Cingal® is a ready-to-use intra-articular combination injection for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis-related knee complaints. It combines high-molecular-weight cross-linked hyaluronic acid with the corticosteroid triamcinolone hexacetonide in a single 4 ml pre-filled syringe.

The combination of both active components is designed to provide rapid relief of inflammation-related pain together with longer-lasting viscoelastic support for the knee joint. Cingal® may be used as a viscoelastic supplement or replacement for synovial fluid in the knee.

Triamcinolone hexacetonide for rapid anti-inflammatory action

Triamcinolone hexacetonide is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties. It supports the reduction of inflammatory processes in the knee joint and may provide rapid pain relief. According to the manufacturer, pain relief may begin within a few days after injection.

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid for lubrication and mechanical support

The high-molecular-weight cross-linked hyaluronic acid supports the viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid. It contributes to lubrication, cushioning and mechanical support of the knee joint. This may help support mobility and contribute to longer-lasting relief of pain and stiffness.
